The monetary system is composed of many things, one is the unit of account. A unit of account is a standard numerical unit of measurement of the market value of goods, services, and other transactions. This is also known as standard or the measure of any good or service.

It is the smallest and easiest method of determining th true value of something. There is a formula to the conversion factor, this is quite complicated and can be researched online. For the basic unit of account realize that the subject at hand is the smallest form of incremental units that can be added or subtracted.

That is the key to any real unit of account, can the number be added up or take from. If it has the ability to be broken down into these smaller units of measure, then the formula may be applied. The unit of measure, a true original formulation.

The money supply is that in which the entire worlds economical machine is powered by. Even the “new green” in economics and motivation, still mandates that the money supply is king. The chief driving force of any money supply is the ability to transfer the money to one place from another. The seem-less method of delivery that must be used is called the monetary system. An example of this is the ATM machine. The debit/credit card is inserted and the bank gives the money through the little slot. There, the simplest form of the money supply, done and rather quickly.

The money supply is of high and great importance as each of the individual countries of the world require a great system of delivery in order to receive and give services and goods. A great example of a country with a decent money supply is the United States of America. Known as the power house of the world, still.

Search for ‘Technical Analysis’ on the internet and you will be swamped with material, but after much investigation I found Top Dog Trading.

When I began trading Share markets, I always knew that fundamental analysis was out of the question, but analysing share charts was something I could get my head around.

What helped my decision to take the Top Dog Trading course to learn Share trading?…. A variety of things besides the overwhelming need to trade better and stop entering too many loosing positions; was that I understood what Dr Barry Burns was imparting on his website and much or the instruction is explained on the detailed videos which makes it much easier to follow his chart interpretations. A further qualifier was Barry’s CV; it is what I wished to see, a business man to whom trading is a business, he is also a highly regarded speaker and writer.

So I subscribed to his free 5 video course on learning to trade to see if I felt good about his analysis systems.

Before this, I had already done several other courses on technical analysis relating to Forex trading but cannot say that I really gained the understanding of share trading that would minimise my trading losses, all this changed once I came across Dr Barry Burns, now I am comfortable with the share trading strategies I have learnt.

With Barry’s courses I have not only learnt how to execute his methods but also embraced a far deeper comprehension of the Share market & the charts and probably more importantly the money management and personal attitudes that are so intrinsic to becoming a successful Share trader.

In his courses Barry details the analysis rules simply and clearly, then gives actual chart examples with all their confounding moves showing how to turn the rules into profitable trades. This is all done via an expansive selection of videos.

Provided you follow the principals Barry explores, you will end up with a very profitable ratio of wins to losses with tight control on the losses, so when one does a trade that goes against you (which even the best traders do) the hurt is not too severe.

Barry’s courses are the best Share trading courses that I have found and I would highly recommend that you give his FREE course a try. This freebie has 5 videos that introduce you to some of the most powerful trading material I’ve ever seen.

I have completed the course, loved it, and gained a vast amount from it and have gone on to Barry’s more in-depth courses. My wish to learn Share trading will never again produce the losses of the past.

Try Barry’s Free Course for yourself:

Risk tolerance is crucial for beginner stock market investing. When you’re just beginning to invest in the stock market, you’ll start to see that each person has his or her own risk tolerance level , which should be taken into account. The investment professional you choose should know this so he can help you determine your risk tolerance. Then, that professional should help you determine which stocks fit within your risk profile.

Some folks believe that “risk tolerance” refers only to how you feel about risk. That’s not the case at all. Actually, a lot is involved with determining your personal tolerance for financial risk, and emotions actually play just a small part.

Ascertaining your own risk tolerance, with regards to beginner stock market investing, requires that you consider multiple factors. One is that you have to be aware of the funds you have available to devote to investing, and the other is that you are completely aware of what you are trying to achieve financially. For example, If you think you’ll retire in 10 years and you haven’t accumulated any money in your savings account,’ you will need to maintain a high risk tolerance and do some hardcore investing to have enough funds to retire.

On the other hand, If your investing begins when you’re 20, your beginner stock market investing tolerance toward risk can remain low. Getting into the habit of investing early in life will allow you to let your money grow over time. When you factor this in with your emotional response to financial risk, the right investment recipe will become obvious. It can be hard to figure this out yourself, so it’s best to use a reliable financial planner or stock broker who can expertly assess you risk tolerance and assist you with investing for retirement.

Knowing your risk tolerance will help you establish an investment style and help you feel confident when you and your broker make investment decisions. While there are many different types of investments that one can make, only three investment styles exist – and those three styles tie in with your risk tolerance. The three investment styles are conservative, moderate, and aggressive. But I will save the explanation of those for another article. Those will be clarified in a future article.

Has the economic downturn reached bottom yet? No one really knows, despite what the so-called experts might have to say. This could be a deep recesion, a depression, or a fundamental change in the global economic structure. However, it has been true in all previous economic downturns and collapses that some businesses do well despite many failing.

How can an investor make significant stock market profits during grim economic times? The military had a wise and concise list of what to get in order before a fight: Bullets, Beans and Bandages.

Although we all hope that our current economic problems have nothing to do with military planning, major civil unrest, or war, the three B’s are still a useful guide to how you might make money in carefully selected stocks.

Let us look at Bandages first. A bad economic situation could turn disastrous in the face of a serious disease outbreak if we are not prepared. One potentially deadly threat looming on the horizon is avian influenza. Fortunately, researchers are hard at work on vaccines to prevent this rare disease from becoming widespread in people. One company to pay attention to is iBioPharma, Inc (OTCBB: IBPM), which owns commercial rights to technology developed by the Fraunhofer USA Center for Molecular Biotechnology in Newark, Delaware. This company has technology for vaccines against bird flu and other diseases. The interesting thing about their approach is that they use tobacco plants to produce the vaccines at a lower cost than other methods. In tough economic times, keeping costs low matters, and sometimes innovative approaches lead to lower costs.

Let us turn our attention now to the Beans part of the equation. Well known branded products are struggling in the stores these days and the companies’ stock prices show it. Have you taken a look at Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) or Kraft Foods (NYSE: KFT) lately? These are not speculative stocks, but their prices have fallen. By contrast, take a look at Family Dollar Stores, Inc. (NYSE: FDO). Over the past year, this company’s stock has gone up in value. It sells consumables such as paper products, clothing and home products to people who can’t afford to shop in the fancy, high-priced stores. The number of people in that situation is growing these days.

And, finally, we should look at the Bullets part of the list. Take a look at Smith & Wesson Holding (NASDAQ: SWHC) or Sturm Ruger and Co. (NYSE: RGR). Sales are rising and so are their stock prices. If times get tougher, the natural instinct that people have to protect themselves and their families may continue to create business and stock price success for these companies.

Note: This article is intended for educational purposes only and should not be interpreted as a recommendation to buy or sell any particular stocks or other investments. The writer of this article does not currently own any stock in any of the companies mentioned in the article.

There are several types of software for Forex trading. As with nearly every software, Forex trading software has it’s strengths and it’s weaknesses. In order to choose the best software that you can use in Forex trading, you need to know your needs. So what system is right for you?

Most of the software available helps ease the burden of trading in the Forex market. As compared to the stock market, the Forex market is open for longer hours; in fact, it is open twenty four hours a day. Keep track of all things happening in the Forex market with efficient software. It is ridiculous to think that you could monitor the market all hours of the day. With the software, you can continue with your everyday routine activities and once you have time to study and analyze the stock market, you can simply use the trading software to monitor the day’s activities.

The software will do all the difficult tasks for you. One of the great aspects of Forex trading software is that it monitors the markets activities around the clock. The trader can decide the degree of independence of the software. Many traders with busy lives leave the dirty work up to the software.

This is a good example of how trading software works

You make the decision to invest on a certain trade. When you were out doing the laundry or perhaps you’re in the grocery, you started losing money because of some unfavorable changes in the market. Purchasing an efficient software can lessen your losses in the market by automatically trading once an unfavorable change is acknowledged. This is just one advantage to having trading software as a trader.

Some trading software takes emphasis on the signal indicators or generators and other market trends. You can benefit a lot from this software because you can confidently trade without any doubts on your mind. This kind of program uses complex mathematical algorithms. Forex moguls are incurring lots of profits through the use of this kind of software. The software has been tested and is effective. In fact, this kind of software can help you in making a precise trading decision through the advanced algorithms and trend indicators. You get trading tips when certain indicators are found by the software, thereby providing you with accurate Forex market information.

You can also find combination software programs. This program can be utilized by both beginners and advanced traders. This kind of software can monitor the changes in the Forex market and at the same time provide helpful trend indicators or signal generators.

The similarity in the majority of software is great enough that it doesn’t really matter which one you choose. As long as the software works for you, you can utilize it for as long as you want. Software publishers typically update their software programs so you don’t need to be concerned about that yourself. Many of the software programs allow you a trial test period allowing you to find the right program for you.

Research the different Forex trading software available before chosing the best one for you. Trading in a very complex market is not as easy as you think and you need to be prepared for everything with the help of the trading software.

The first thing you must always consider when picking stocks is if the price will go up or down in the foreseeable future. Forgetting to think about this one point, may very well cause your portfolio to spiral downward.

Besides considering that first piece of information, it is time to verify that the stock is undervalued and looking for an upswing. If you think that buying cheap stocks means learning how to buy cheap penny stocks then you have completely missed the mark. Simply put, knowing how to pick stocks like the pros is akin to investing like you have done it your whole life.

Exactly what is buying cheap stocks then? This means that buying cheaps stocks means buying them at a price that is under what the market values them at. Knowing how to find and buy these cheap stocks is will make you as rich as the professionals.

How do you buy a stock that is cheap? The first thing to do is identify a sector that is under performing or will be performing well soon . Now compare the stocks competitors PE multiple with the multiple of the stock itself. If you have a favorable position and the stock should be at a higher price, you will want to consider the stock for purchase because it might be undervalued. If you really believe the stock is under priced then you should think about buying it.

Can you then get away with not learning how to successfully trade mutual funds? Only a fool would think so. You would not ignore other ways of investing unless you wanted to lose a lot of money in the process. Don’t be a fool and learn how to invest in mutual funds as well. Else you will end up sorry if you do not. Mutual funds could be the best way to grow your savings and retirement money consistently over several years. You would not want to be one of the destitute and regretful would you?

by Dan Gibson

They say history repeats itself, but usually not this quick. The United States is in going through a huge banking collapse not seen since the banking collapse that gave rise to the Great Depression.

In 1929, the good times in the United States came to an end. After years of tremendous personal financial wealth gains, the market corrected. This resulted in rumors of banking problems and a run on the banks that resulted in the collapse of the industry.

Once the Great Depression began, it built up momentum and steamrolled much of the world economy. For 10 to 11 years, the economic situation was beyond miserable with people losing everything and working for pennies.

It took two major events to put a stop to the economic misery. Social projects by the government created jobs for tens of millions and then World War II started. War requires goods and the war acted as the ultimate economic stimulus package.

Does all this sound a little familiar? It should. The only difference is the Great Depression was fueled by stock market gains, while we have seen housing market gains. We all hope, of course, that a World War is not necessary as well.

The world of banking and finance these days is shocking. Huge names like Merrill Lynch, Lehmans and AIG in dire straits. Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, the backstops of the mortgage market, in government hands. It is simply shocking.

Imagine if five years ago someone told you AIG, Merrill Lynch, Lehmans, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae would be in bankruptcy or saved by the government? You would assume the economic system had crashed.

Before this mess, few would have known who Ben Bernanke was. Well, they should now. He is the Chairman of the Federal Reserve and the man keeping the banking industry from imploding. With his quick action, things would be much worse.

The Federal Reserve was around during the first Great Depression, but in a much less powerful role. When things went to hell in a hand basket, it really had no serious part to play. Well, things have changed this time.

The Federal Reserve has a number of roles. The biggest is to provide liquidity to the financial system. Essentially, it loans money to banks. It is the last step before government intervention. In the current crisis, the Fed and Government have put up over 900 billion dollars to keep things running.

The current situation is unique. Banks are failing right and left, yet nobody says much. Why? The Fed is coming taking them over and selling them over the weekend when the news reporting is none existent. Pretty slick, eh?

So, does this mean the financial crisis is under control? Not really. It should only get worse. AIG is a huge company. The Fed is mostly trying to buy time till things settle down naturally. When and how that happens is anyone’s guess.

Wall Street has to love Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke. With a serious liquidity crisis developing Helicopter Ben showered the markets with money. Perhaps the investment bank and hedge fund managers won’t have to sell their yachts after all. At least not yet.

As for the almost immediate result of a huge cash injection? The stock market put in an impressive performance for the week, closing well about the closely watched technical resistance level of 13,300.

Bernanke earned his “helicopter” nickname as a result of a speech he made in 2002. Helicopter Ben said that if interest rates fell to zero in a weak economy, if need be he would drop money from helicopters into the banking system to keep it going. This was in reference to the price deflation plaguing Japan at the time, which sparked concerns that slowing inflation in the US could lead to the same situation.

In response to the liquidity crisis sparked by the meltdown of the sub prime housing loan lending market, the Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank have collectively added at least $350 billion of temporary reserves into the banking system. They didn’t use the helicopters favoring more traditional ways of providing liquidity.

Maybe next time the helicopter air force will be placed in action. Another round of crisis is sure to follow within a few months. Â

The Federal Reserve was not the only central bank to open the cash flood gates as the European Central Bank, Bank of Japan, Reserve Bank of Australia, and the Bank of Canada all enacted similar measures. This is the largest amount of liquidity injection since September 11, 2001. This injection brought interest rates down significantly, helping to give banks a cheap source of funding to meet their financial obligations.

Overnight Federal funds rates have traded as high as 6 percent to below 1 percent in late afternoon trading over the past few days. They are now back at around 5.00 percent. Whenever there is a liquidity problem, ensuring an ample supply of reserves is a central bank’s top priority.

For now it looks like the Central Banks lead by helicopter Ben have saved the day. The Dow looks poised to resume its easy money upward march. However, there is always a price to pay for quick fixes like huge injections of cash into the world’s banking system. With the sub prime mortgage lending market fiasco set to intensify in October as a huge round of ARMs are due to be reset another crisis will likely develop in October and additional liquidity will be needed.

In the long run huge injections of a fiat currency into the banking system can not possibly be a good thing. However, for the near term look for the stock market to resume it’s advance back to the recent highs and possibility beyond.

However, Ben Bernanke will have to keep his helicopter warmed up and ready to go. We are in the region of last resorts to keep the unbalanced US economy moving forward.

Once again the US Federal Reserve takes no action on interest rates leaving the key closely watched Federal Funds rate unchanged at 5.25%.

The Fed probably really can’t decide what it should do and when in doubt does nothing. The Fed is positioned squarely between opposing market forces.

Fed chairman Ben Bernanke acknowledged the market’s concerns about a credit crunch brought on by problems in the sub prime lending market for real estate. Some market observers had hoped for a rate decrease to help alleviate those fears.

However, any decrease in interest rates could hit the value of the US Dollar hard and lead to a higher inflation rate. Many commodity prices are already soaring so inflation may be a problem sooner than later.

With risks apparent in both directions the Fed has its work cut out for it in coming months. Probably Ben Bernanke and the other Fed board members are hoping that they and the economy can somehow muddle through.

I doubt that they or the economy will be so lucky.
